When he was just a young man, about the age of 12,
Gene began to call his beloved father, "Old Man." His father didn't know
what to make of it until Gene explained that it was his way of showing
respect. Later, when he served aboard ship in the navy, the crew spoke of the captain as..."Old Man" for that too was their way of fondly referring to the man in charge. Even though, as you can see, Gene isn't all that old, by grown folks standards anyway, you may refer to him as the "Old Man" if you wish. He won't be annoyed. A very new day dawns in Anniston. If you have problems... or better, solutions, seek out the "Old Man" and give him all you have. The day of the citizen has arrived.
